Subspace Online Poker Tournament

Subspace Poker Players...

Some of you have asked me to set this up, so I've now got confirmation and have a private game set up at Full Tilt Poker! Are you game?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 at 7pm EST. Only $11 to play. It's a private tournament and you'll need to use the password: Ahhh, you'll need to visit Subspace Forums and learn more about Subspace! (Tournament Number #45417437).

You do have to deposit a minimum of $50 and can do so via an online check or using a credit card, and they pay you back via the same method or by mailing you a check at your preference.

I've already signed up for the tournament, you can do so in advance, so let's get it on! Squad Captains forward to your squads and other players of Subspace. The more who play, the more you can win. If any of you are 'in' to this, please share your support here, it'd be nice to know who we're playing against in advance. The more who play, the more successful, fun it'll be!

Good Luck! :)

June 2007 Vegas Trip

Well, had a BLAST in Vegas this year! Stumbled into the WSOP on 6/22 and bumped in to Chris Fergusson, had the honor of shaking his hand and saying "Hi Chris" as we went our different ways.

I played in five smaller MTT's and made final table 4 out of 5 times. My game is definetly improving.

Stayed at the Stratosphere, small, very small poker room but I beat the locals there which makes all the difference to me (that's what I was looking for).

Also played one MTT at Planet Hollywood, 110 entries, got down to 28th place and was bad beated out.

Great photos and fun for me and the wife!

Nothing to brag about however... I did come in 3rd out of 259 in a $10 Multi Table Tourney last night at Full Tilt paying $360 some dollars! Was a great game too!

Richard (Quiet Lion) Brodie

Ok, so I think he asked me to post this. I sat down awhile ago with $400 and a $25/$50 No Limit Table at Full Tilt with Quiet Lion and two or three others... shaking in my seat I played a few hands, after snatching a fairly large pot, I quickly departed with $1806. Not bad for 15 minutes of work. Thanks Quiet Lion, I thought for sure you had the Straight but had to play out my Aces & Tens since I paired them on the flop. Peace!

Picard holding $10,000 Entry Ticket Paid in Cash by FTP

Picard Table 7, Seat 3

Well, while I chew on this crow, let me be the first to say "I'll be back" at the WPT. I lasted through three levels at my first WPT event at the Borgata. My first downfall was in the first level. Committed to throwing anything away except AA, AK, KK. I was the Big Blind with Q8s, everyone folded except the Small Blind who called. Flop came out 88Q so couldn't resist, I did a ten times pot bet not expecting to be called. The Small Blind called. On the turn a five. The small blind had less chips than me so I pushed all in to get him out, he called tossing over his Pocket Queens and taking the Life right out of me.

Picard and Phil Ivey

I was short stacked the next two levels, making it to level three. Every time I was a blind the players bet my stack. Finally having two pair on the BB I went all in and was called by someone having a pair of sixes with an Ace in the hole and rivering an Ace.

Definately gave me a wake up call and some more knowledge for the next time I am entered into a Main Event.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Picard and Mike Matusow

Nice Highlights of my experience were dinner with Chris Fergusson, Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow, Eric Siedel, and some other FTP Pros, I got some nice photos too (one with me wearing Chris Fergussons WSOP Ring).

Picard wearing Chris Fergussons WSOP Ring!

Had a Great time, sure could have been better though! Walked away with Great Memories, a few lessons, and a Full Tilt Bag loaded with FTP shirts, hats, cards, jacket, etc.

Full Tilt $50,000

Well, paid the $216 to play in the Full Tilt $50,000 Tourney where 1st Place would pay $13,000. Ended up 17th and taking a mere $400.50, I'm happy with about $70 an hour for 3 hours work.

Peace!

Septembers Thought on Hold'em

I get letters asking for advice, tips, etc. I can't wait till I'm really a PRO and people want autographs and photos, sure... lol Ok, here's my "tip", thought and/or advice for September 2005 (I'll start doing this once a month).

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson has said "Position, Position, Position" however if there are 3 P's in Poker I would say "Patience, Position & Pot" with the key emphasis on PATIENCE. If you are not prepared to throw in the majority of your hole cards, find another game, as you will not consistently WIN playing this game. Relying on a "gut instinct" or "gut shot" will simply bring more pain TO your Gut.

Read and reread the above, then take some time to think on it. It's the BEST advice I am offering for September, 2005!

Peace

Vegas Report

Just a quick report for anyone checking this out... Wife and I just flew in from Vegas, what a week! Poker wise I played in 4 Multi Table Tournaments, small $65 Buy Ins, made the the Final Table in one of the four. As I've been playing online the last year, it was refreshing to sit in front of people again, I am "Ready" for the WPT. First MTT no glasses, next three I was "Shaded" with my Foster Grants and I learned a few new things which I'll keep to myself for now.

Last night, er, Friday Night, I purposely got drunk on Captain Morgans and Cokes (and some Fat Tuesdays Hurricanes) and then went down to a 3/6 Limit game to see if I would be quickly relieved of my bankroll or not. I am happy to report I walked away 3 hours later with $300 so I was able to play cards while running my mouth at the table. It was ALOT of fun and very entertaining! My concern was that "if" I could truly play cards I should be able to play even if drunk. Don't worry, you WON'T see me drinking during the WPT! I only drink on vacation (which is what last week was) and major social events. I am looking at the WPT as "work" and am going to give it my absolute BEST!

Wednesday Morning I had the fortune of walking up to a 1/2 No Limit Game at the MGM and sitting before was indeed Chris Moneymaker! What a truly 'nice' guy he is. I wish I had been able to get into the table and action however the other nine people there were glued to their seats. I heard he started around 6am and I witnessed him leaving around 10:30 am'ish. He had on a Polo that said "Moneymaker Gaming" <--- what is this? I went and checked out the new "Wynn" Casino... WOW! I love that place except the Poker Room is REALLY crowded. You could just about play two live tables from one seat. Ok, time for bed and in less than 12 hours I will be heading to the Borgata! Just you wait to see my NEXT Blog Entry! (SNICKER)

Peace!

Full Tilt Rocking for Me

July 31st, 4 pm, 92 people each paid $50 + $5 and off we went... end result at 7:05 pm I took 1st Place winning a Cash Prize of $1,472. Great day after busting out of two more expensive tournaments today. Party Poker had a $350K tourney that was well over $450K which I paid $200 to play and busted out with Pocket Nines and a Flush Draw (stupid me) and I shelled out another $200 on a Full Tilt Tourney which I didn't last too long there either. So clearly, no one WINS all the time.

Overall Winnings for today = about $917 when all is said and done. Had a great time too! Looking forward to my WPT Seat in September! I still can't believe I'm actually going this soon.

Peace!

2005 World Poker Tour & Picard

Yes, it's true folks! At app 7 pm this evening I Won a $12,000 World Poker Tour Package from Full Tilt Poker! That includes the $10,000 entry fee and $2000 to do with as I like. I am so PUMPED for this! Takes place September 19th thru the 22nd at the Borgata in Atlantic City, now I will be playing to WIN however won't be saddened if I don't. To me it's both an honor and priveledge to be able to say I actually played in my first one. In any event, I feel totally Blessed by God that this opportunity has befallen me.

And it only cost me $26 ($24 + $2 buy-in) in a FTP qualifier this morning which led to a FREE $216 seat in the 254 person main event for one of four WPT Packages. I was fortunate enough to maintain a strong chip lead until the very end! Thank You Full Tilt Poker for this opportunity!

1546 Entrants

This is not so much about the prize but the endurance. I paid $5 to play in a R/A multi table tournament today. I managed to swim past more than 1500 people to take 45th place and a $70 prize. More and more I can consistantly get into the paying seats and now have the next level of my game to improve "the final hours". I am still very confident that I will indeed grab a large final table pot. Perhaps Sunday July 24th at Paradise Poker? I won a $300 seat in their $100,000 guaranteed game at 5 pm EST. We'll see.
